What Muffler do i have
Ok i would one like to ask the question I bought this Flowmaster muffler but i do not know what series it is. Its going on regardless but how do i. All i have is the Patent number its 4,574,194. But any other way i can tell.
I do want to brag a bit about it . I got it from a guy that was parting a 95 camaro so im going to put it on mine. Well it looks farely new and it has brand new 3" chrome tips about a foot long welded to it. So i thought this was a steal, and the price was-----$40. Is that not cool or what. but please if any one can help i just need to know the series of it.
I bought it late saturday and want to put it on. But i dont want to buy KOI motors factory 2 1/4" piping. They want $20 my discount, for the factory pipe. But i dont want anything that small if im going to do it right. Is there any other f-bodys that came bigger than 2 1/4" with single cat applications. or are all dual and single cats have same cat back systems. I am taking it to my shop to put it on but if i have to take it to car-x i get a discount there to. Does anyone know the answers to my question. And do you agree, It is going on my stock camaro not the built 305.

Re: What Muffler do i have
I know alot of people around here get the 40 series 1-in 2-out, and use one of the outlets as an inlet like the 80 series. I ask why and they say because everyone else has an 80 series.
Yeah it sounds cool, but its counter productive flow wise.

the 80 series is the only flowmaster that is made to fit crossflow like the stock location. All the others are conventional with the inlet(s) and outlet(s) on opposite ends.
like I said though, there are other mufflers that look just like the 80 on the outside, and will weld right up. But they arent the right shape on the inside to flow right, because you would be in an outlet, and out and inlet.
