Cheap muffler I can install myself?
Well, so far this week I have received 2 tickets this week, fact is, my straight pipes are just getting too much attention.
Because I am now lacking cash, and the entire pierce county police force seems to be stalking me, I want to get my car quieter, but I dont want to waist my money and sound like everyone else, or just a quieter version of what I have. Dont misunderstand, my car sounds GOOD. The other day I passed a 82 Z28 that sounded really deap, throaty, and rich. Wasnt too loud, but you felt it when he stepped on it.
Thats the kind of sound I want, but I cant weld, and I cant afford an exhaust shop to do it for me. My budget is like, $60, Im broke

I have also heard really good things about MagnaFlow though, would it be worth the extra cash?
This is my exhaust setup, just for reference. This is all three inch pipe.

The first thing I would do if I were you would be to head out to your local U pull it wrecking yard with a sawzall. I find aftermarket HP mufflers nearly everytime I go out, especially on F-body cars. If you get a 3rd or 4th gen piece it will be under your budget and likely include the tail pipes as well!

you can get your self a cheap cherry bomb muffler. and just clamp it on and use the muffler sealer and stuff. use that for the time being until you have enough money to get a good muffler and a shop to install it.
thats what i did. paid $30 for the muffler. clamp that sucker on and called it good. cost me i think a total of $40ish
thos muffler do suck tho. i still have it on my camaro. there better then the lame quiet mufflers but not as good as a flowmaster or any of thos type of mufflers thats for sure.

Have you looked at one of those chambered tube mufflers? Yeah, its about your whole budget, but it would sound alot better than all those real cheap ones.

You might also want to try the local muffler shops in your area. Often times they have exhaust systems pulled off cars that are perfectly fine and almost new in some cases that they pull just because the owner doesn't like how the car sounds with it. It will wind up on a shelf in the back because sometimes the shops can't justify throwing away a perfectly good exhaust system. Just a thought. They may throw it on for you too for a reasonable amount just to make a bit on it and get it out of their back room.
