New Exhaust
So, I've been thinking about changing my headers to the Edelbrock TES system and removing the A.I.R. components. What part number would I need in order to do this? I have a 1990 Trans Am (LB9) with a 700R4 with a B&M Megashifter. And of course I'd rather have ceramic coated. I was also considering ditching my magnaflow catback and running a borla instead.

Re: New Exhaust
Did you read my sticky post at the top and see how I say Edelbrock headers suck? The ports are too small and the y-pipe is horribly designed.
Go with the Hooker 2055's (they're the best 1 5/8" shorties) and cut the air tubes off (but if you live in the USA you're violating smog laws), or contact member Dyno Don about his 1 3/4" headers and y-pipe you can get without AIR tubes.
What's wrong with your Magnaflow? I have one on my car and I love it.

Re: New Exhaust
there isn't anything wrong with the magnaflows, just tossing around some ideas. will those hookers run with an automatic floor shifter? i read on summit that a lot of them won't. also i live in kansas where we don't have emissions laws.

Re: New Exhaust
first off there doesn't have to be anything wrong with an exhaust if he wants to change it. all though the borla is alittle more agressive sounding than the mag,i wouldn't pay the 800. to change sound. but hey thats me. do what ever makes u happy. there is nothing wrong with what u want to do as long as ur putting out ur money, its ur choice. and a good one too.
about the hkrs. i really can't comment on how they are. but i have been reading endless threads these past 4-5wks on exhaust. trying to decide on wich one to get is a b1tch.
but like Kevin said i've read that the edels are complete junk.
shorty headers will never cause fitman issues with any tranny. its the long tubes that do that. and even then its not that bad.
so good luck

Emissions laws are a federal thing that applies to all 50 states, regardless of whether your state checks for them or not.

The following is a complete three-inch direct-fit system: Hooker 2055's (Jeg's 520-2055). Catco high-flow converter (Summit CTO-9118). Hooker catback (Summit HOK-16823HKR).
