Re: My bro's catback sidepipes no muffler
i have a true duel exhaust system that worked out well for me 2 short glasspacks is the key two old school camaro sound, considering i have stock manifolds sounds better than most camaros around here i will take pictures soon as possible
my pipes are well bent i have around 4' to 5 inches of ground clerance pipes come out befor the back wheels whitch are cragers if i might add, i have no cats whitch make a hell of a difference! I ride around with my buddy who has a 92 camaro rs with 355 with headers and flowmaster 80series and sounds just a little bit better but not as much as you would think...my eahaust at idle yes its not that loud, but when i get on it its sounds mean as hell! oh and ah i just bought on ebay some flowtech headers in great shape so when they come in i will put them babys on and it will sound even more fantastic, i just hope i never get pulled over
i will be fu****,but then again as many redne*** around here drive o ford trucks around tennesse with no exhaust what so ever! im sure my chevy will be just fine with that beautiful camaro sound

quote:::That's it, I'm buying a house down the road from you & putting some nice 4 inch dual straight pipes on my Chevy & pulling the pipes off the Bronco's headers. Then watch you do this as I drive by You'll learn to like it.
Actually nevermind on that, its too cold up there... & its all good as long as it includes a V8 twisting the crap outta the rear tires.
See heres the problem to the majority of people that aren't into modifying or driving performance cars our community is seen as a whole. So when you do stupid stuff like drive around with open headers and obnoxiously loud exhausts in suburban neighbor hoods you give all of us a bad rap and **** people off so they call the cops who give everybody with hot cars a hard time. Which is why here in New York we have stupid laws about the size of the pipes a car can have and even how tall of a hood scoop you can run. So maybe as a whole we should think about how what we do impacts others before a few irresponcible people do further damage to a great hobby and make us all look like jerks.

If you really want a stupid loud car invest some money and install a remote triggered dump for when your out in the middle of nowhere and have nobody to defen but yourself. I mean theres no advantage to those ultra loud pipes. MY 88 runs a high 12 with a 355 breathing through hooker shorties and a 3" flowmaster.
sounds like u have a loud exhaust to me.
Yes when you put your foot into it and get the RPMs up of 2500 the car becomes notably louder. But if you drive like a normally person in town the exhaust is only slightly louder than stock with a deeper tone.

Re: My bro's catback sidepipes no muffler
I think its the thirdgens that people have a problem with. Not the loudness of their exhaust. When I went over to my cousin's house (they are rich) and drove through his upper-class devolepment, all the people in their yards, and walking on the street, either stopped to give me dirty looks, or were pointing at my car at saying something to another person. Just the fact that I drove an almost 20 year old, domestic, now considered "white trash", firebird into their neighborhood, made me unwelcome there. And I have stock exhaust.
However, it seems like every dodge pickup since the "hemi" was re-released, has some crazy loud catback that doesent sound good, but drones and reverberates through the house. There are at least 3 in my neighborhood. They are all far louder than the origional poster's firebird, but nobody says anything about them! They dont even get pulled over!

It didn't sound that loud to me. Sounded pretty decent, nothing that I would do to mine though. Should have had a nice burn out!!

Well I wasn't going to go there, but agreed!! Wish that I could do a burn out with mine right now! Too much damn snow, not to mention anything that I can't get it out of the driveway! Stuck in a few inches of snow!
