Re: Dyno Don Headers Fitment
They're no worse than any other headers as far as installation, but they fit a lot better. It should take a day or two to install them, depending on how fast you are and how hard it is to remove the old manifolds.

Re: Dyno Don Headers Fitment
hmm...i think it must be the gaskets im using cause on a dry fit, they fit fine. but with the gaskets in there, the earls gaskets, which are pretty thick, i have just a little bit of a clearing issue. should i be wary of cutting into it about 1/4 of an inch?

Interesting. I'm also using the Earl's gaskets with no problems. Don also recommends the Earls gaskets and uses them quite often if the customer does not already have a set.
Not that this applys to anyone's car inparticular but I wonder if soft motor mounts or maybe a car that has been in a crash is causing some of these fitment problems. Maybe polyurethane motor mounts will cause a motor to sit a little higher.
I have seen a few of Dyno Don's headers on 3rd gens and there is plenty of room. Just wondering what the variables might be to cause these issues from one car to the next.

I'm also using Don's headers with Earl's gaskets and have no fitment issues on my '83 TA.

Assuming you kow where im talking about, (the lower portion of the black box in the passenger side of the engine bay). Is there anything i should worry about while trying to make clearance? Is it something i should remove in order to prevent damage to anything on the inside?

Re: Dyno Don Headers Fitment
I'm waiting on a set of Don's headers, so I can't comment on fitment yet.
I don't know about cutting into the A/C box. Any opening you made in it would need to be closed up, and you would have to be careful to not cut into the evaporator, which I think would be closest to the spot you are talking about.
If you don't need A/C you could install a non-A/C heater box, which would give you more room. If it were me and I wanted to keep my A/C, I'd probably swap out the poly mounts for some new rubber ones.
Oh, and the plastic (or maybe fiberglass?) on the A/C boxes is kind of brittle, so keep that in mind if you do cut into it.
