MAC cat back

I just ordered macs f-body catback. I looked high and low and i found not one clip of it on an fbody. I know it sounds great on stangs. Does anybody have this? I'm lookin for some reviews on it. I already have flowtech headers, flowtech y-pipe, and a magnaflow cat. I'm toppin it off with the MAC catback. If someone can get me a clip, or give me your thoughs on it if you've heard it, itd be greatly appreciated.

Re: MAC cat back

Dont know on a third gen but on a fourth gen ls1 ss it sounded good to me. It was not to loud or to quiet. It was a step above stock and uyou can hear it more under acceleration. This was on stock manifolds.

Re: MAC cat back

Yeah, as long as I have been reading threads here, I have never seen anybody get the MAC catback.

You should definately get some good quality clips, and put them on youtube or something for us to hear.

On another note, I have read of a few people using the MAC y-pipe and test pipe, and they say it was good quality and fit. Hopefully the same remains true for your exhaust... good luck!

Re: MAC cat back

I had a mac cat back exhaust back in 1997 on my 91z. it had an ok sound. the tips coming out the back have baffles in them, which I cut off. Had a great sound then

Re: MAC cat back

i put it on. It sounds good but i def need different tips. With the tips on it about half way in volume between stock and straight piped. The resonators in the tips make the sound higher pitched. With the tips off its about 10x louder, much deeper, and screams at all rpm's. I'm gonna pick up a set of stainless 3.5' slant cut tips without the dumb *** resonators in em.
