Anyone with the Hooker Cat-back???

I already have the hooker comp-shorties and y-pipe, so I guess I might as well get the cat-back too??

Anyone got this and like it?

Should bolt right up to the y-pipe correct?

A Catco high-flow converter, Summit CTO-9118, is a direct-fit (slip fit) for both the Hooker 2055's and the Hooker catback, Summit HOK-16823HKR).

I'm happy with mine. Quiet at idle, nasty snarl at WOT.

Re: Anyone with the Hooker Cat-back???

I installe mine last summer and like it. It doesn't really have a very throaty sound at idle, but has a nice tone driving and under a load. The tips look good to...they were why i bought the Hooker kit. To get them to fit good I cut some lenght off the tailpipes, I like the tips to not stick out past the bumper. I can get some pics later if its not raining, if you would like to see how it looks.

The Y-pipe came with the test pipe (no cat) so i will use that, just wanted to make sure that the catback will bolt to that pipe in the Hooker y-pipe kit?
p/n 16767hkr for my 2460 headers.....

Re: Anyone with the Hooker Cat-back???

I got it and I love it. I also had to cut a bit off the tailpipes so the tips were even. I don't have a cat on my car and it is pretty loud at idle. Nice low rumble. And it gets progressivly louder with throttle

Yeah, I'm not going to use their tips... I got a set of stainless 93+ tips I'm gonna use. I guess I might as well just buy the muffler and have the shop build the rest??

Problem is the fact it wont have a cat on it, so I know the normal shop I use wont touch the car.

Re: Anyone with the Hooker Cat-back???

yeah the hooker cat-back sounds pretty sweet IMO.
I had it on my first Bird... mild 355, hedman long tubes with a custom y pipe and no cat, it sounded BADASS and wasn't really that quiet like people usually say it is... maybe the long tubes and no cat made it louder, i dunno, but i'm buying one for my GTA as soon as I get the money

Re: Anyone with the Hooker Cat-back???

I know when I had my cat still on, the exhaust sounded almost as quiet as a prius, then I took off the cat and it made all of the difference in the world.
