will these fit says for 86 and up mines an 84

i have a '84 z28 with a 350 in it...just curious if the hooker 2055s will fit with no problems reason i ask is everywhere i look says its made for the 86 and up cars...and only reason i can figure that is cuz of the 3" slip on cat which i do have a 3"slip on cat...anyone give me some info on why they are for 86 and up...and if they will fit my car please let me know...i only know of one reason why ppl go ceramic coated and thats to keep the heat down any other reasons why and how hot will it get if its not ceramic coated...any problems with ceramic coated headers...does hooker do good job of ceramic coating theres or should i get the cheaper painted ones and get them ceramic coated somewhere else for a cheaper price..???

They'll fit (86+ because they were designed for TPI cars, IIRC). Anyway, I run the uncoated version on my 85 and haven't experienced any "heat-related" problems. The coating may contribute to the header's longevity.

Correct, they only list the applications for which they bolt into the exhaust. They'll fit the engine and chassis just fine.

I've heard both good and bad about Hooker's ceramic coating. It's fairly safe to just order them directly from Jet Hot - they'll buy the headers, coat them inside & out, and ship them to you.

Basically, the engine/chassis doesn't change through the years. Only the exhaust pipe.

If your exhaust isn't stock, then that issue doesn't apply anymore.
