exhaust system ideas for an 84 camaro

i have a basically stock 350 with a t5 in the car. 3.23 limited slip rear. Im looking to put headers with a full exhaust on it. i was thinking about these headers and y pipe

i was wondering what cat, and cat back would be a good idea to use with this. im not looking for anything that has to be modified, as i dont have the tools or experience.

For another $50, you can have much better headers and y-pipe

Cat, CTO-9118.

Cat-back, whatever you want that's made for the '86-'90 TPI single-cat application.

That stuff will all bolt in (with the possible exception of a hanger or two).

The following is a direct-fit system (no modding whatsoever):

Hooker 2055's (Jeg's 520-2055). Catco high-flow converter (Summit CTO-9118). Hooker catback (Summit HOK-16823HKR).

the 2055's have the air tubes for emissions, but im not running any of that on the car. the previous owner removed it, and i only have one more year till im emissions free. how would i remove those, or do they make a set without them?

Cut and weld, which is what I did. No biggie.

Don't know what it would be. Check the following link for pics that show the welds (the paint's wearing now, but originally the welds were difficult to see):

If you just want headers without the air tubes, get the hooker 2460's with the matching y-pipe.

Re: exhaust system ideas for an 84 camaro

the 2460's y-pipe is way overpriced. you could always get the 2055's, cut the air tubes off, then just tap the tubes and put some short pipe threaded plugs in it's place. OR...take them to your local muffler shop and have one of the guys there do it for a small price. the 2055's are just such a better header/y-pipe combo than the 2460's.

Welding the tubes shut is extremely easy to do. Anyone with a wire welder can do it.

Check the pics in my vB Garage.
