Hole where the TherMac riser used to be
Hole where the TherMac riser used to be
Been a forum lurker for a while, and can not thank you guys enough for the help you have given me... with out even knowing it.
After reading https://www.thirdgen.org/ultimatetbi to make sure there was nothing I was forgetting.... I am left with the querstion.....
Did you guys plug the huge hole in the exhaust manifold? I would think that would be a cause for the o2 sensor to wig out and cause some unwanted noise.

Ok, so the actual exhaust does not travel through that port, just the heat that the manifold creates? Well good deal on that part, that would then mean that the ticking I hear is coming from somewhere else. Is there a good way to know where the ticking is orriginating from?

Generally a search is the first place I go, and it gave a lot of options as to what could be ticking... Water pump, exhaust manifolds, Any of the pumps, heat shields, mufflers, etc. I was more asking how ya'll find out what is actually ticking? Is there a nifty lil tool or trick that is used?

Get about a 2' long piece of heater hose, hold one end to your ear and the other end to various things you are thinking might be making the noise.
Exhaust manifold leak to the head is a pretty common cause of an annoying ticking noise.
