4th gen on a 3rd gen?

Ok this is probably gonna get me laughed at but I'll ask anyway. Can you use a cat back from a 4th on a 3rd at all? The reason I ask is I have the factory exhaust off a 2000 WS6 that a guy I worked with had taken off literally a week after he bought the car to replace with a Borla setup. The muffler shop cut it right where it goes over the axle to get it out. Would I be wasting my time even trying this? Just curous.

It wouldn't be a complete waste of time, but some adaptation fabrication will be required.

The Borla catback on my car is off a 2000 Transam. Only difference is the hanger locations. Any shop should be able to put it on with ease.

I'm running a kit built ( LS1 cat back, with a Magnaflow bullet-style muffler. Not much difference besides the hangers and where it connects, which is only SLIGHTLY different because of L98/Lt1 vs LS1 y-pipe assemblies.
