As long as you get the catback for the '86-'90 TPI single cat application, it'll be fine.
Gains will depend upon what else you've done to the engine/car.

Re: Hooker 2055's and Magnaflow catback
OK, so i bought both things but now i have a question, since i wont be installing a new cat, im just going to put straight pipe there. should i still hook up the little tubes that are on the headers? or should i leave them? should i remove the smog pump? and this may be a nooby question, but the headers will come with gaskets and header bolts right? and do i spend the $$ to have a shop install the headers or could i do it? isnt there a big risk of breaking a manifold bolt in the head? thanks for your help and sorry for all the questions

did you get the Y pipe that goes with the 2055 headers? if you didnt i would, fits great and saves hassle from having to build a Y pipe.

thats one of the main points i like about my 2055's, you can unhook the Y from the headers if you have to do any work and no gaskets involved.
