Exaust setup for LO3
This is just an idea that I thought of and was gonna see what you guys thought about it. I have the LO3 so it has a y-pipe into a cat and then out my stock catback. I hate the sound that it makes when you take the catback off and be done but I was wondering how it would sound if you took off the stock catback and just put on an aftermarket muffler and left it at the rearend of the car. Could this sound good. I don't need to see pipes. If so what kind of muffler should I get for a good tone and not too loud but some grunt.

Although the "glass pack" has been a standby for years, the tone leaves something to be desired. The hooker aero-chamber is one of the better flowing, and IMO one of the better sounding mufflers. Its not too loud either. Magnaflow also has some good sounding products that wont break the bank. Flomaster has some nice sounding mufflers(I run single chamber DF) but some of them might excede your volume preference.
In the end its up to you what sort of tone you like. Listen to the clips in the sound gallery sticky, although pay attention to the engine combo listed with them. A wilder engine will no doubt be louder than yours with the same muffler.

i have an all stock car 305 with aero chamber and i love the sound... its not obnoxious and real throaty but once you get on it the aero has a nice rumble to it...
