Headers causing spark plug problems
Does ANYBODY have a remedy to solve the spark plug problem you get with aftermarket headers? I have a 305TBI with Hooker shorty headers and now I can't get a socket on my spark plugs to either A) change them, or B) tighten them up.
And you can't use a wrench on them because the hex sits underneith a lip on the block.
Is there a way to get something on the plugs or a special tool? Because the only way I know how to get to the plugs is by taking the headers off, which is NOT an option for me, especially on the passenger side of the block with all the A/C and A.I.R crap getting in the way over there.

Re: Headers causing spark plug problems
I got a socket, looks like it as cut with a band saw, so shorter, and a ratcheing wrench, that you just put on end and turn, no flipping / re-adjusting, etc... I think I got it shippd for under $20... just looked and didn't see any...

Re: Headers causing spark plug problems
i just use a deep well closed end wrench. it takes forever though. one end is 5/8 and the other is 3/4. which the 3/4 will fit on the end of the spark plug socket.

Re: Headers causing spark plug problems
I just took a spark plug socket and cut like 1/2 inch off of it and then I use 3/4 wrench on the end of the socket.
