well im tired of fighting with my td's and not being able to hear my radio and all the complaints from neighbors on the excesive noise. so ive decided to throw on a stock ls1 muffler with 3in I pipe and over axle pipe and build a custom y pipe to go to my lt's. i want to run a cutout but debating on one in the I pipe or two before the merge opinions would be apreciated. well i am buildign another motor for this car and im afraid that a single 3in will not be enough but thats why i want the cutouts. i dont want the car loud im over having a really loud car and i picked the stock muffler since i got it dirt cheap with all the piping and tail's. ok sorry for my rambaling but just curios if anyone has any video's/soundclips of a fairly quiet even stock exhaust with a cammed motor? well any opinons/suggestions?

 

For what its worth, my '97 LT1 car is all stock, but has the catback from a '99 SS. Its not loud by any means, but it sounds really nice. Has a nice growl, but its not loud at all. I still have cats and iron manifolds - if you have headers and no cats, it will be a little louder, but not much. I say go for it.

i posted another thread about it but i bought a stock 02 t/a catback for $40 I pipe to tips got it from a member on ls1tech.com. im going to ditch the stock 2.75/3in or whatever I pipe for a 3.5in with a cutout then stock piping form the ls1 system to the muffler. i posted some pictures of the muffler/tails mockup on my car the other day here is the thread.
