Headman Install
I just finished installing my headman headers on my engine- which is on the engine stand still. I have the Headman Y-pipe that came with the Hedman headers from summit.
My question is that when I mocked the ypipe up to the headers the driver side collector adapter on the y pipe doesn't appear to long enough.
I can get it close to picking up the header but the y-pipe then hits the oil pan. Seems as though it will be an easy exhaust shop fix to correct it.
fab. a longer collector adpater to slip into the ypipe? anyone else have this problem?
There are headman headers with AIR on a 350 with HO heads

Re: Headman Install
Yea they are shorties...
To better clarify.. the driver's side collector dumps just next to the oilpan's hump... the length of the stub collector that you slide into the Ypipe to mate up to it seems right but the angle and length of the vertical section (rises to mate to the header is too short/wrong angle.
Now I am running a Moroso 6 qt oil pan without kickouts... (learned that the hard way.. hard to ship back my 9 qt. oil pan with kickouts for interference problems)
I figure worst comes to worst I can install the engine run with headers to the exhaust shop and have them fab up a new collector?

Re: Headman Install
the Y-pipe was designed to fit around a stock oil pan... so I believe your going to have to have someone fab it up.. I would try to use a local shop... (they tend to bend the rules a little...)
