Header Hardware

Hello all,

I have a set of Dyno Don's headers for my 383TPI. I am trying to figure out what to do for the hardware. It seems like this should be an easy and inexpensive decision, but I am finding it is anything but.

I'd like to get the Stage 8 locking bolts that have the locks and E-clips, but I have (2) concerns:

- Will the locks ruin the ceramic finish of the headers and bite into the welds over time?

- Looking at the OE exhaust, the front left manifold bolt is actually a stud. A bracket that supports the alternator is mounted to that stud. If I got these locking bolts, what do you do to support the alternator?

If someone has this locking hardware, could you let me know if the locks wear away at the finish of the header and let me know what was done to support the alternator. It is MUCH appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Header Hardware

I havent used Stage 8 bolts, but I do know on the alternator bracket and the A/C bracket you have to reuse the stock bolts so the support is still there.

Re: Header Hardware

Does any one use the locking hardware AND support the alternator? Are the supports required? Is this when people start fabin' stuff up?

I'd like to use the locking hardware to prevent the annual retorquing and gasket replacing.

Thanks
