02 senser and shorty headers

02 senser and shorty headers

I have a 92 camaro and I am installing a set of shorty headers do I need a heated 02 senser or will the stock one work

You dont have to run a heated O2 sensor, but the engine will perform better at idle with one. Its only at idle that there is an issue. Once you start moving and the exhaust starts flowing, the O2 sensor gets enough heat.
The O2 sensor needs heat to work properly, and installing headers moves it further away from the hot exhaust right out of the cylinder heads.
