Which Headers Should I Stick With?
The headers right now on my car are the funky Edelbrock (I believe they're longtubes) ones that prevent proper routing of the spark plug wires on the passengers side.
They get the job done for now, but overall not too impressed.
When I picked up that 350 that turned out to be a boat anchor, I got a set of hooker headers with it. I cant remember the model on them. They go for about $140 at summit. I believe they are shorties.
When the car hits 25 years old, I am considering removing the AIR system. The Edel headers in there right now have the air injection tubes, and the Hooker headers do not. But aren't the air tubes required to pass visual state inspection?
The hooker headers aren't in too bad shape. They have some rust, but a quick sand blast and some paint and they should be good as new.
Thoughts?

If your area has a visual inspection, yes they are supposed to check to make sure you still have the air pump and air tubes.
Edelbrock's are shorties, they dont make long tubes to my knowledge.
You could also get a set of Dyno Don's headers. Search this Exhaust forum for "dyno don headers" and then send him a PM.
