80 series flowmaster
how does the flowmaster sound on a 305? does it help much if you redo the whole piping to 3 inch and make it true duals. What about hp. gains? Does anyone have video clips of their thirdgen with a 80's series.
Re: 80 series flowmaster
I'd stay away from flowmaster. The design just doesn't work with an F-body designed system. I can't tell you how many times I've seen swaps from Flows to something else and there's always a gain. Look at the Hooker catback systems. They work awesome, sound sweet, and are priced decent.

If your 305 isn't heavily modded, go with what you think sounds the best. It's not going to make a difference HP wise if you go with a Flowmaster or Aerochamber. Pick which system sounds the best to you, and be happy.

Re: 80 series flowmaster
I had 80 series on my car and like they said no hp gain from it. but it sound sweet. I put my muffler where the cat goes and ran the exhaust out the side right infront of the rear wheels. Looked and sounded great. But no hp gain.

Re: 80 series flowmaster
I have a flowmaster 80 on my 305 Camaro. It is a single 3" cat back, dual 3" outs on the muffler. Y-pipe is stock and I am running a standard catalytic converter.
It has a nice sound to it. Nice low tone, fairly quiet at idle. Compared to my dad's Camaro which has a 350 (low compression truck motor w/tpi on top), mine is only a little bit quieter. His has the same setup except it has 2.5" tips.
On another note, when I first bought mine, it had no catalytic. And, it sounded more aggressive than it does now. Definitely a noticeable difference in sound when we brought it home after getting the cat installed.
Here's a link to the sticky with a bunch of sound clips.

Re: 80 series flowmaster
Search youtube for exhaust sounds, go with what you like, the muffler won't make or break your car. True duals will be expensive and aren't necessary.
