quick exhaust setup question

hello everyone! I recently purchased a 1987 camaro with 5.7l. It's got cermaic headers to flowmaster 40 series. The owner mentioned something about 3". Does that refer to the the pipe that connects the muffler to the cat? The flowmaster 40 series is nice but I'd like something louder. So would I be able to just buy a muffler to completely change the sound? Borla or something different? Or would that require buying a whole new exhaust kit. Thanks slot!

All you need is a new muffler that fits your intermediate pipe.

Re: quick exhaust setup question

thrush have some low profile mufflers that should give you a deep tone.
