my friend wreaked his 4th gen Lst bird. he is willing to sell me his borla catback exhaust system. just wondering if it will fit ok without big modifiations.

 

It will fit... You just need to make the mounting brackets, which isn't that big of a deal... GO FOR IT!

 

heres another question. he lost the noise plates for it so will it be very loud you think and I tryed finding them for sale looked everywhere. If anyone know a place that sells them let me know.

 

I would just make some. I did find some on craigslist for like $50 in Sacramento, Ca... I would just drill some holes in a plate. Would work the same...

 

what do you guys thing i should do. im going to get the borla system but my cat is very old and im thinking of replacing it. all my friends tell me to take it off but i don't want to kill the enviroment and I want to drive in piece without choking. thinking of getting a high flow cat. but will it kill my sound. are high flow cats louder then stock cats?

A High-Flow cat will be a little louder, due to it flowing better.

To put a LS1 cat-back on a 3rd gen, you hafta address the hangers, like already mentioned, and redo the where the intermediate pipe connect to the cat, since the LS1 cars are essentially set up like a true dual system, until the intermediate pipe.

I have a LS1 cat back on my GTA & they aren't THAT big of a deal to put on. Just requires some welding & re-piping.

 

Just put an electric cutout there. I have a LS1 Borla catback on my car. If you really want the plates, I'd contact Borla.

 

has anyone put one on a N10 car with the dual cats? i work on my friends 02 SS all the time and he has the Borla on his. everytime i'm under his car it looks like his y-pipe ends in the same spot as my flowmaster y pipe. i have put the firehawk exhaust on my other friends 88 GTA so i know all about the hangers and intermediate pipe. i was just wondering if anyone knew if that would work on the N10 setup. i don't really want to cut up a system that cost that much.
