LOOKING FOR A LITTLE HELP

what ever suggestions you can give me will be appreciated.

here is what i have. a fairly stock 305 running a zz4 cam and tpi, but not with the original tpi heads for now.
i have hooker 2055 headers with a 3 inch y pipe and a new mag carb approved cat, like the headers.
i have ordered a 3 inch internal chambered exhaust, 3 1/2 inch diamter, to act as the mid pipe, it is 26 inch long inside and 31 inches outside, down the center line by the drive shaft.
here is my problem. i dont want some big bulky muffler sitting there.
i want to either keep one pipe over the rear end and out the back, but hidden so it will be cut at an angle. i may go for splitting it over the bacck into a left and right side, still hidden, but that is doubtful.

do i need another muffler, like a glass pack or something like that after the rear end but before the exit? will it be too loud even with the new cat - its pretty packed, and the 26 inch chamber or do i need to get another chanbered exhaust?

has anyone done this?

thanks

Are you trying to be different, or are you allergic to buying a cat-back system, or what?

Re: LOOKING FOR A LITTLE HELP

The GMMG chambered system put the stuff in place of the crossflow muffler.

i saw good prices for catback but i did not really like then sound. i also did not like all that spaghetti that was floating around them. i did not really like the muffler where it is - i dont want people to see it - i prefer they see the rear end and not a silver box.
i wanted the pipe as straight as i could get it. and i like the sound of chambered exhaust an the old 1st gen stuff.
so i bought a 26 inch chamber stick with a 3 inch internal diameter and 3 inch 1/2 external. but i am afraid it might be too loud, but i am not sure so i asked.
i cant find anything on the board so i ask. i know where the search key is. i also looked at every site i could find with youtube sound, but its hard to tell although i heard some mighty fine chambered exhaust.
i just want what i want and i dont want to pay 350 for what someone else made.

im building this for me - i have wanted to do it for decades - and now is my time - thats all.

Re: LOOKING FOR A LITTLE HELP

I'm all in favor of doing your own thing, I think buying a cat-back would be good, not to use as shipped, but to cut it up, use what you need like bends and hangers.

Re: LOOKING FOR A LITTLE HELP

got a client who is a exhaust shop. 150.00 to custom make the connectors from cat to chamber exhaust and then from chamber out the back and to hang them. cant beat that. custom 3 inch exhaust under 250.00.
