It will be louder, but more importantly it will be totally illegal. Cats are required on street cars.

Re: No cat?
I ran that exact setup on my 90 v8 camaro. it had stock manifolds, I just replaced that section where the cat is with pipe and ran my 2.5 inlet/dual outlet flowmaster. It gives it a nice deep sound, but definately not too loud. you could just pull your cat off and hollow it. not too difficult. like he said, no cat is illegal...but then again, who am i to talk. most muffler shops wont do it for you, so unless you are going to do it yourself, or have someone that is willing to do it, you gotta sweet talk the muffler shop, sometimes that works, thats what i did, told them that if anyone asks, it was like that when i bought it.

Re: No cat?
I have the same setup in both of my camaros. I have gutted cats, and flowmaster exhaust. Nice deep sound, not loud enough for me though, but loud enough for other drivers I'm sure. I think I am gonna use a cherry bomb, and a y pipe to make em louder.

Re: No cat?
dont both taking out the cats. i dont know where you are from, but one of my friends got caught with no cats on his mustang and he just got raped for like 1000 bucks. along with that i heard that all cars that are found with removed cats are sent to the ref.
this is all in califorina tho.
eaither way its just smater to keep the cats on. it wont take away to much power if you get a high flow one, your car wont smell like you are running stupid rich every where you go, and best of all if you do get checked you just save a lot of money time and hassel

Not from Ca here, Michigan. No emissions testing. At least not yet. What is the ref?? I wouldn't dream of running w/o cats. I am a real tree hugger dude..

Re: No cat?
the state ref is the guy they pay to go through your car with a fine picked comb and find every little mod you have done and write you up for the ones that are not legal. and they will find everything. from what i heard of now they will even get you for deleting hoses and if you mess with emmision you are ****ed

Re: No cat?
we don't have emissions testing in mich. yet that is. W/ Obama's package falling flat it's gonna stay that way. Michigan cannot afford to implament emissions anyway.
