ceramic coated guys (help)

I going to get my hooker 2210's ceramic coated in a few days. I was wondering what to do about my header bolts, do they coat them also or do I need to get stainless steel ones? I just dont want to put ulgy black bolts on my shiny new headers!

Thanks, Jerrod

I got some Breslin bolts... they torque down and then lock with an allan key in the middle... I prefer this style to the Stage 8 locking ones, to many pieces for my liking... They have black and stainless...

Re: ceramic coated guys (help)

your problem is the same as many of us . ceramic coating is great , but it does/can scratch . what i have done in the past is S/S bolts & washers . you will have to grind a flat on each washer . the flat will go against the area of the exhaust tube . washers are stamped out of sheets of metal , one edge is pretty smooth the other has a rough/sharper edge . if you have a grinder one side may have a wire wheel . a wire wheel works great for smoothing rough edges . put the smooth side against header flange . go slow , take your time and you can end up with scratch free headers . good luck .

quoted for truth ! I have the Stage 8s and Will never spend the $$ on them again. to get the lock washer on you have to have the bolt in just the right spot. if its not you have to try and tighten it a little more or loosen it. I ended up having to grind some of the lock washer more.

They make a ceramic spray coating for stuff like bolts or touch up....I bought it locally at parts store.....I also have ceramic headers, and ended up touching those up with it but also I bought a few cans and coated the whole exhaust system front to back....looks great!! Just an idea for ya
