thrush welded muflers. flowmaster knockoffs

i got my new mufflers in yesterday, so i slapped them on the header extensions to see how much quieter they would be over the summit 3in louvered glasspacks. obviously they do the trick! for 29.95 a piece, a pair of them are cheaper then a single flowmaster unit!
once i get my carb worked out to were it will idle, ill try and post a video of them in action to give an idea how they sound.
with 4ft of 3in pipe into glasspacks, dumping at the axle, the car was extremely loud, louder then most cars with open headers! needless to say, street driving was a bit nerve racking. now with these bad boys, she is way quieter, still a little loud, but not crazy loud cops showing up at 6pm loud anymore. worth looking into if your on the hunt for some good mufflers, and dont want to pay $70 a piece for the name.

engine is 11:1 stroker, with a 6.25 lift mech roller cam, not really a quiet street setup, but it is now!
check em out. many sizes and offsets.

Re: thrush welded muflers. flowmaster knockoffs

I was thinking about getting these its either these or magnaflows at friggen 78 bucks a pop! My cars got a 355 long tubes and dual 3" exhaust to the rearend, flomaster 40 series. It is cop calling loud and I am deaf and get a headache everytime I drive it. I need a quieter muffler, these thrush's will do the trick and still sound good?

Re: thrush welded muflers. flowmaster knockoffs

if your looking for alot quieter then pony up the loot for the magna flows...... the thrushes are indeed quieter than the 40 series but only by 1/3 or so......

Re: thrush welded muflers. flowmaster knockoffs

yeah I need it to be 1/2 as quiet.. I got the magnaflow on my '89 sounds awesome and its quiet but thats a catless catback (single 3") but same motor with shorty headers though. Obviously dual 3" to the rear gonna be louder. I'd get the magnaflows but not sure if im gonna keep the car or not.
