Aftermarket Headers help

88 GTA 350 i put on aftermarket headers, and now the car seems to be choking itself, but when you get on the highway or get the car moving it runs great, but in traffic, it jumps and the idle sometimes is up and down.

Sometimes the check engine light will come on and the car runs like brand new.

am i maybe allowing too much air or not enough. anyone know??

Re: Aftermarket Headers help

sounds like something was disconnected during installation and not re-installed. The headers would not cause these issue.

Check vacuum hoses, electrical connections, o2 sensors, ect.

Re: Aftermarket Headers help

Pull the codes for the SES light and see what it is - that would be a place to start.

Re: Aftermarket Headers help

sounds like you need a heated o2 sensor... the stock o2 sensor will not act right with headers..
