New Single Exhaust Set Up Help!!!

I have a 2.5 in. true duel set up on my car. one pipe for each side, no x pipe or anything just two mufflers. with hedman long tubes.

i am thinking i was switch to single soon bcuz of the fact of the ground clearance.

so i was wondering how big should the piping be for a single set up, plus i want it to sound tough as well.

thanx for your help.

If your running a pretty tame setup a 3.0" single should be good.

well first you've gotta tell us your new combo, i know you built the motor so we need specs b4 we can help you with exhaust size. i'd go with a 3.5" minimum if you have a serious motor, i'm upgrading to a 4" myself so i NEVER have to deal with exhaust again, you cant really over exhaust your car anyways so go big!

In all honesty i would just use a single 3" system, your cheapest way to go is to buy a catback, I have flowmaster, but from what I have heard magnaflow is the best buy with the sound quality, build, and price.

Re: New Single Exhaust Set Up Help!!!

i'd run 2.5" or 2.75" pipes that y into a 3" or 3.5" pipe, and either dump it at the axle with a bullet muffler (borla xr-1!?), or run it over the axle into a muffler of your choice. the over axle part is where you will spend the most money, the muffler shop across from the discount tire in kemah is cheap if you just want to get it done, his work is ok but its not mandrel bent
