Re: Magnaflow OR Flowmaster???

ton of threads already out there like this

But in a nutshell. Some love flowmasters, others hate them and like the magnaflow.

Can get magnaflow in stainless.

Claim magnaflow flows better then flowmaster.

In the end, listen to sound clips of both and pick what YOU like best.

Re: Magnaflow OR Flowmaster???

forgot to add my opinion.

I dont like the sound of the magnaflows. I've got the 80 series Flowmaster and I am happy with the sound of it.

Re: Magnaflow OR Flowmaster???

If you type into Google = "Youtube, flowmaster, duel, camaro." you will get a few sound clips to listen to. You can do the same with "Youtube,Magnaflow, duel, camaro." I have listened to many on there. Sound quality can be a little off but you get the basic tone. By the way I have the 3 in. American Thunder Flowmaster "80 Series" cat back with a high flow Magnaflow cat and I really like it . Seems to sound better and better every day.

Re: Magnaflow OR Flowmaster???

I looked through a magnaflow today and my eyeball superflow bench said it liked it seriosly i like the idea of the straight through design of the magnaflow over the flowmaster for performance but u may prefer the sound of the flowmaster

Re: Magnaflow OR Flowmaster???

Magnaflow is better than flowmaster any way you cut it. Only reason to go with Blowmaster would be if youre after there sound. Thats it though. If you prefer performance and durability go Magnflow or Borla or Corsa.

I would go with Magnaflow, I actually like the sound of flowmaster too but I like the magnaflow muffers better. A friend has magnaflows on his 70 Corvette and they sound great. Nice rumble at idle but not too loud and no drone at cruising speed.

I just bought a set of magnaflow mufflers for my dual exhaust but haven't get them welded on yet. I had a set of the older straight through edelbrock mufflers but one cracked, I really liked those mufflers too but they don't make them anymore. I'm running true dual 3in dumped before the rear axle using this muffler. Heres the one I'm using. I would get center in/out if you are dumping before the rear axle.

I just had an exhaust set-up fabricated using Magnaflows. You can check out the fit in the dual exhaust photo collection thread.
