Headers

Im installing new shorty headers about 1.5 inches straight pipe (no cat) with a 3 inch y pipe and 3 inches all the way out to a magnaflow muffler. what im getting at is are the headers going to add power? Also when im done how loud will it be?
im debating the straight pipe.
