Header decision...
Going to be going through and redoing the engine this fall, and have started to collect parts. Need some help with header choice, going with 1 3/4" LT's. Trying to decide between hedman huslers, or hookers?? Does anyone have any real world numbers? Along with installation concerns besides the usual?

Re: Header decision...
I have the Dougs longtubes. Basically the same thing as the Hooker's, just $150 or so less. They even come with ceramic coated reducers. Putting them in took me less than 20 minutes, although I do have a pretty bair engine compartment. I use to have the cheap Hedmans. They fit like crap. They hit everything. The only good thing about them was the fact the collectors sat a lot higher than the Dougs. The Dougs dont hit anything. You will need a mini starter with the Dougs though. There is no way a regular one would fit in there.

Thanks, I haven't really seen the Doug's before....They look great, with an even better price. Right now I have the Hedman 1 5/8" LT's. Did you see any difference power wise with the bigger headers? If so do you have any numbers, either dyno, or track times, or was it more of a seat of the pants dyno???

Re: Header decision...
I cant say for sure if the headers are going to make a difference. I haven't even drove the car yet with them on. Even once I drive the car though I cant say what difference they made since the last time I drove it I have done 100% new exhaust, and a Th350 to T56 swap. So if the car feels faster to me there are too many variable for me to say which ones were responsible for the change. I just know that they fit great although I do have a tubular K member so I cant say what a stock one would be like.
