Stock Manifolds

Quick question. I have an 83 camaro. Has a 305 in it. The question here is, is there a donut or something that goes between the manifold and the y-pipe connection? Mine does not seem to have them in it. And the surface on the manifold and the y-pipe join up like a compression fitting almost. So just wondering if there is anything that goes between the two to make the connection right.

Aside from the EFE valve on the pass side, I don't recall anything.
