Exhaust nightmare.....
I have to say it is flat out awesome fixing previous owner's doings. I never could figure out why my headers were a PITA to do the exhaust gaskets. The Y pipe was crooked just a little and made everything just a wee bit off. So got that taken care of and now I have an extra quarter inch of exhaust pipe that has to be hacked off in the center before everything can be welded back together.
And to top it all off. The battery charger for the sawzall died..... BTW I very much dislike SLP headers.... the gasket is a one off deal and I had to make my own. I'm about ready to pull my hair out. So glad I at least have it on a lift.
I'm off my soap box now. Why don't you post your horror story.

Sorry man...definately know how you feel though, as I'm sure half the guys on this board do to. Had many of those "wanna throw a hammer at the windshield problems". Thought about it many times, lol. Glad I never did though. But what kinda issue are you having specifically with the SLP's? I've never used them, but was planning too soon cause I've heard that everyone loves them?

Re: Exhaust nightmare.....
I can't say for sure if it was the original installer of them or not but everytime I went to change my header gaskets I had to "persuade" them with a pry bar to get them to line up with the holes on the heads. When I pulled the Y pipe down to weld the exhaust up since the previous owner had just tacked it into place and when I went to replace the Y pipe I had to break one of my welds to get it to fit back right without "persuading" it on there, so now I have a 1/4 inch of exhaust pipe I have to hack off before I can weld it back together. On top of that you can't even buy SLP header collector gaskets anymore. I had to make my own, overall its just been a pain fixing things that weren't done right the first time.
