muffler suggestions
Ok, it's time for a new muffler. I don't want to spend a lot and no I do not want to buy a flowmaster or a catback exhaust. My current catback pipe is fine. I also do not want to go to loud, yet i dont want this car to be silent like it is now! LOL. I am wanting to know some of your opinions out there. Ok, I narrowed it down to a couple different mufflers. I was looking at some flow charts and comparison tests and it looks like summit's fully welded mufflers flow pretty damn good for under $40. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=263014 Anyhow, I have heard that the crossflow style mufflers don't flow very well. Anyone else heard that? So, I have narrowed it down to cherry bomb extreme, Summit fully welded muffler, or Thrush fully welded muffler, Thrush fully welded crossflow muffler. I think the cherry bomb is just a little loud for me and the dynomax super turbo that I was looking at for GM cars is way, way too quiet. So, what do you all think? forget about a crossflow/transverse style muffler altogether? Oh, and also the car currently has Edelbrock TES headers, N10 dual ypipe, and 2 1/4 catback on it.

Re: muffler suggestions
Check out magnaflow mufflers, decent sound level at idle but will scream up top, plus its one of the best for flow #'s!

Re: muffler suggestions
Hookers are nice and near stock at idle. But have some oomph when you get on the gas.
Re: muffler suggestions
What are your objectives?
Science says 2.2 cfm of muffler/exhaust flow per horsepower before the exhaust/muffler becomes a choke and limits potential.
400 chp equals 880 cfm (or 440 for two) required.
