Which exhaust will support and be good for my setup?

I'm building a forged l98, afr 190 vortec heads, slp ported runner, ported plenum. Will most likey go HSR soon. Also will be spraying 150 shot and will eventually strap a D1 to it. I want to run longtubes, should I go y pipe or x? What headers will support the power I'm going for (550-600 rwhp) and flow the best.

Why are you wanting to run longtubes?

I don't see why you wouldn't run longtubes, more high end power, only thing that can support higher horsepower or if I step up th boost. Better sound.

I vote for long tubes. Make sure you have the transmission and torque arm configuration you want before you plan the exhaust. Mine are coated 2210s into the Mufflex Y-pipe that I had to dent slightly to get it around the Spohn TQ Arm and then I built my own 4" exhaust on back to a Hooker Muffler and it dumps on driver side with 4" turn down tip.

You're going to have some issues with long tubes. I had to notch the rear A Arm mounting flange to get clearance. You might have issues with the oil cooling tubing also. I didn't reuse mine so I don't know.

You could also look into some Dyno Don headers I believe he makes some that follow the OEM path.

With the ground clearance problems, the room they take around the engine and the minimal HP loss with shorties they seem to be outdated these days. You have seen the shorties that Dyno Don makes and the video on a Dyno. His headers will be less of a headache when working around the engine or drag like lonetubes. I bought a set for a Mustang I had. I could only get lonetubes and they would drag all the time. Get two people in the car and you could forget about going to a parking lot with speed bumps. My RS is stock ride height and drags a lot now. I have shorties on it I would hate to see what longtubes would do.
