Exhaust help for stock firebird
I've been wanting to upgrade my exhaust system on my stock 1990 Firebird Formula. I have a 350 V8 with no performance mods. Since there are very few sound clips of stock firebirds with many different exhaust systems i don't know which sounds the best. I'm looking for a deep kind of grogly sound. Like an old muscle car. I know you cant duplicate that sound with a stock 1990 Firebird, but which of these exhausts would you think would achive that sound better?
Option 1) Magnaflow 16829 cat back exhaust
From what I read on these threads is that this set up wasn't made exactly for our cars and requires some mods or slightly upgraded hangers.
Option 2) Dynomax Ultra Flo ss cat back exhaust
I think this Dynomax can use the stock hangers and requires very little if not no modifiction.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Exhaust help for stock firebird
There's a lot of sound clips here with exhaust - no difference between Camaro and Firebird - it's all the same. Just
exhaust sound clips or something similar and see what comes up.

Re: Exhaust help for stock firebird
I did find a few audio clips of different exhausts, but the majority of them have a swapped engine and headers, ect. I know that changing those will make a big difference in terms of what sound you will get.
Re: Exhaust help for stock firebird
You can dig around on Youtube and maybe get an idea of how an exhaust might sound, but as you mentioned the sound is going to depend on modifications, cat converters, etc. Some brands are louder then others, and you might notice that on Youtube clips. Read up a bit, watch some Youtube clips, and go with the system you like the best. You really can't go wrong with any of the name brand systems that are designed to fit our cars.

Type in on your search engine the words = Youtube, camaro, then the type of exhaust you want to listen to and hit enter.( I said Camaro because you will get a better selection)
