So i want to run headman long tubes on my 1991 305 tpi 700r4 and im not sure if i absolutely have to run dual exhaust or if i can use a y pipe. if i do have to run duals, can i do it without replacing the crossmember?

i had longtubes. wow. what a pain in the *** it was to find someone to make me a y pipe for it. sounded good. performance gain? i gained 2 mph in the 1/4 mile and lost 3 tenths. just do the single exhaust. no need for the duals.
