Borla 14888 Exhaust (3gen version) Need help

Hi!

Used an old thread for this problem, but id figured I start a new one for my problem instead of jacking LT1FUNs thread.

Quoteing myself below to give you the info and questions:

Seems like its missing one small bend next/right after to the catalytic converter, The kit have everything included thats needed it says but it seems like it wont fit due its missing that last ~30-40 ben right after the catalytic converter... and acording to borlas homepage it should fit right on the stock system but the stock system have that small bend right after the catalytic converter..

I also bought a Hooker 2055 header kit and a magnaflow 3" catalytic converter so that will be changed to...

So if anybody have pictures on their 3gen Borla (14888) system installed ill like to see them, could see 4th gen to just for fun thou :-)

EDIT:
Heres the pic of the stock exhaust and stock catalytic converter and y-pipe:

and heres a picture of the Borla 14888 exhaust on my living room floor:

RED ring shows the "missing" bend that the stock system has right after the cat.. why isnt it included in the borla 14888 system? I have new Hooker 2055 headers and a new magnaflow 3" cat on the floor to (in picture) and it would be pretty much the same angle installed, so how the f*ck shall I make this system "bolt on" it says everywhere its a bolt on system but it dosent seem like that when loooking at the pipes included. you see what I mean?

and the GREEN ring shows that its very very small edges/holes, muuch smaller than the 3" part, where should this be connected?! I mean it goes down ALOT in size with that crimp at those two tubes (or shouldnt I need to put all parts on the car to make it fit?
Im feeling very confused at this atm... can't figure it out, This system would be routed exactly as the stock to be able to fit right?...

no instructions was included in the package and that seems strange cause as said it dosent seem to fit without that small bend after the cat..

please help me out guys!
Thanks for your time guys and girls :-)

Parts that will be installed next weekend:

Hooker 2055 Coated, #HOK-2055-1HKR
MagnaFlow 3" Catalytic Converter, #NPE-36019
Borla 14888 Exhaust, #BOR-14888

Did you get this answered? I was talking with Borla the other day and they told me that the 3rd gen cat-back system has to keep a portion of the old system after the cat.

Re: Borla 14888 Exhaust (3gen version) Need help

I would like to ask where the small pipe go from the catalytic conv?
I got a 3.1L v6 bird and my prev cat do not have it. Got a useable one from a same size engine bird, and do not find how to hook it up. I think it was used to heat up the cat faster. And as i think the air pump should be the solution. But how and where? Anyone has pictures or diagrams for this? Will wait for any reply! Best Regards!

in a nutshell the borla doesn't "bolt up" to the cat. you have to cut a portion of you current exhaust and band clamp the begining of the borla to where you cut. there should be two different adapter pipes included in the kit depending on what size your current setup is. what i did when i installed one on my GTA a couple years ago when I did headers, y pipe cat and borla what i did was i brought the bent piece that bolts to the cat already cut to the length it needed to be to a exhaust shop to use as a template and make me a 3 inch version that i could mate with the cat on one end and attach the borla to on the other end. my set up was Hooker 2055 and y pipe, 3inch in and out highflow cat and the borla. basically the same set up you are putting on your car. i have to search but i have a warm start video of that car with the wide open adjustment plate in. i just have to find it

edit: it will sound something like this
