powder coat on headers

The car: 89 Formula 350 hardtop

The build: Fast Burn Heads, ZZ4/FB 385 Cam, Edelbrock Intake Manifold, AS&M LTRs, Jegs 1.5 RRs, Fluidampr, some other cool stuff...

The Proposed Exhaust System: Hooker Headers 2055HKR shorty headers/Y-pipe, Cat-delete/AIR delete, Hooker Cat Back 16823HKR.

The Query: since these are painted, which will likely burn of inside of a minute, is powder coating a viable option for keeping a nice finish on the exhaust components - particularly the headers? will powder coat withstand the temperatures? is there any reason (such as powder coating causing the headers to destroy themselves from the inside) not to powder coat?

Thanks.

Re: powder coat on headers

VHT paints might be a better option. 2-3 layers of this will give similar protection to a powdercoated piece, when applied and cured correctly.

I'm not quite certain what the temperature range on HT powder coating is.
