Just put a set of Hedman shorties an ypipe on. Here is the setup: originally had stock manifolds w/ edelbrock cat back with cat removed...sounded pretty decent. Installed the headers and ypipe and now I swear it is not as loud. yes it is a LO3 with mods, but thought it would get louder, was kinda looking for a better sound..any ideas? thought maybe a flowmaster 80 muffler? Just looking for input since I put the cash into it, and yes it breathes much more, but was expecting some more sound.

 

scratch the 80..get a super 40 or super 44

if u want noise run straight pipes.. sounds just like a stock ls1 without an exhaust.. to me

 

i feel ya i put headers on my truck and i couldn't tell a difference what so ever.

 

i could tell a good difference on my little DD LO3. but when i did the headers i went from single 3" with a flowmaster 80 to true dual 2.5" with super 40's and took the cat off.

 

I think it all depends on your setup. years ago i had headmans on and could not tell this differance on my 87 formula 350.
