question about headers
hi im purchasing an 85 iroc tpi here in a couple days and i want to put a set of hooker 2055's on. so i called the mechanic i usually use to get a price quote and he told be that its a bad idea because they make the floor boards extremely hot and they bottom out when you go over bumps. now he didnt specify if he was talking about long tubes or shorties, but can someone let me know what they think. because i was planning on the hooker 2055's with a new exhaust kit. cuz from what read on this website here it seems like alot of you guys have gotten headers and no ones mentioned these problems. thanks.

Re: question about headers
He'd be talking about long tubes. You could have shorties on a car and never know it was any different from stock, as far as heat and clearance are concerned.

Re: question about headers
Go with the shorties. You can wrap them or get them coated to fend off some of the heat.
