Straight back and dump?

Straight back and dump?
Anyone ever run there pipes straight out of the headers then dump after the mufflers? Any clearence issues?

I modified my transmission crossmember to allow dual 2.5" straight pipes to go underneath and tuck high. Never scrape.

Automatic is a pain to work around. You need at least an S type bend on each side else you'll run into the transmission/frame rails with Hooker long tubes. That will let the pipes drop down far enough to clear stuff hopefully. If you're using an aftermarket torque arm like the Spohn one that's just more stuff hanging down.
My 3" Y pipe is pretty well dinged in to fit. It's way to low in the front still. I've been thinking about how to change it. I might try notching the frame rails, welding plates in to box it off again, run the pipes through there, and connect the Y after the transmission.
