I have a 4" mufflex cat back, attached to their off road 3" Y-pipe. Both have been cut up exensively to fit other custom stuff done to my car. Anyways, I have one connection that is a slip in 4" connection. What is the absolute best clamp out there?
The ones that wrap around?
The old U-bolt style?
The wrap around and T-bolt style?
I have no idea, before this I had my pipes 100% welded up like an idiot, Oh the stupid things you do as a teenager!
Any insight would be great. Thanks.

Not sure whats the best, but I used the wrap around band clamp styles with 2 bolts. Worked well for me.
my other car uses the old U-bolt style clamps and it does well.

the wrap around type (band) clamps tend to do a better job at sealing without deforming the pipe when correctly installed.

SS wrap around band clamps by far. Walker makes them and they are all I use. You can use them on butt-joints as well as lap-joints which is awesome.
U-bolts are garbage for garbage exhaust systems. They crush the pipe, sometimes so badly you cannot remove them from each other without cutting.
Single bolt band clamps are okay as well for slip fit with relief cuts. They just don't have the sealing capability like the longer 2 bolt band clamps do.

Wow. Thanks for the super fast response. I will pick up a wrap around style. Thanks.

the old style u bolt permanently dents the exhaust pipe making it a pain in the **** to get apart at a later time
