305 TBI Hooker 2055's

Got a 305 TBI WITH air tubes, i live in CA they have to stay.

Purchased these thinking the airtubes were in the right direction, havent tried to install yet but are the air tubes correct?

Re: 305 TBI Hooker 2055's

they both face forward correct? My buddy has these on his 305 TPI of 86 and its a bit different than the stock manifolds. On my edelbrocks, (where all my emission stuff bolted right back up easily). The passenger side air tube faces foward while teh drivers side faces straight up. You should be able to make it work pretty easily though Will. You seem like a real smart guy.

Well they both face forward. Only problem is it looks like my pass side faces back(toward the rear of the vehicle), not sure how i missed that before purchasing, could of sworn i made sure it would work.

I think i can make it work, just doing it and keeping it smog legal is the issue. hate this state. Any ideas?

most people with 305 TBIs get 2055 Hooker headers I believe. Haven't heard of any prblems but I can't I have done it myself.

Re: 305 TBI Hooker 2055's

They attach with soft hoses like heater hoses

ok so after looking at it the drivers side faces the correct direction and if i remove the little round thing(assume its a valve) from the end of the air tube i can put it on the hooker header and make it work.

Now the pass side faces forward(the opposite direction of the OEM manifold), the oem one goes up and faces forward(toward front of vehicle). So if i take off that round thing(valve?) and attach it to the hookers side(facing the front of vehicle) i can route a soft hose back into the bottom of the A.I.R assembly on the pass side from that round thing.

Make sense?

That makes sense yes. Those round things are called Air check valves.
