Hey guys I was wondering if instead of using the metal pipe that connects the catalytic converter to the air diverter valve if I could use a rubber hose instead. Would the hose survive or just get burned up from the heat? I have a new cat. converter with me and it has a stub for the metal pipe to connect to but they are the same size and I don't know how to make them fit..

How much is left of your original tube? If it's only been cut down by the cat, there's a kit with a high temp rubber hose and some clamps that most parts stores have, advance auto does for sure. I dont remember the brand though. It's just called a catalytic converter hookup kit, something like that.

You could also probably find everything you need at a hardware store (lowes in my case). On my car, the metal tube had been cut off up by the firewall when a previous owner removed the cat. I replaced several feet of missing line with some copper plumbing tube (something like 1/2 inch I think, whatever was closest to the original, it bends easily to shape) and some appropriately sized couplers/adapters when I put a cat in. Soldered it together like you would any plumbing copper pipes.
