MAFsensor maintenance?

Any suggestion on MAF Ssensor maintenance?
Can it be done? If so, what's the best way to do it?
Thanks in advanced!

Wrong section

You can use an aerosol MAF cleaner- about the only option for a card style, or what I've done with the GM 3 wire MAFs is use a MAF cleaner, and GENTLY followed up with Q tips soaked in alcohol. Be VERY VERY careful with the qtips- you can hook a wire and rip it.

Leave the Maf sensor alone, it is self cleaning with a burn off function. Unless you want to mess with it and cost yourself a few hundred dollars for a replacement.

Re: MAFsensor maintenance?

The MAF burn off wont burn off all the K&N air filter oil, plus it dosent burnoff every time you shut off your car, sooo it does get dirty.
The sensor does need cleaned with a cleaner once in awhile.
DO NOT over oil your K&N filters.
I wouldnt touch the wire with a Qtip tho!!!!

What then would you suggest utilizing to physically clean the MAF that's as gentle? Using a spray will always leave behind a coating that requires physical removal.
