pipes needed for exhaust

Hey, I was just wondering if anybody would be able to tell me which mandrel bends, and how many of them I would need for a custom exhaust. I have a friend who does exhaust and said he'd build one for me for the price of the pipes, but I don't know which pipes would be needed.

Thanks,
Peter

Not to be a smartass, but why not ask your buddy who does exhaust since he should have an idea of how and where he's going to run the pipes?

For anyone on here to make a guess, they're going to need a lot more information.. Like "My car is totally stock, automatic with X brand headers and Z brand y-pipe, I want to dump the exhaust by the rear axle" or "My car has long tube headers and a trans crossmember mounted torque arm, I want true duals with bullet mufflers going straight out the back like stock".. Very few bends needed with the first setup, lots needed for the second.

I'm sorry, I was at school and I guess just wasn't thinking. I couldn't ask at the time because I was at school, also... I would be looking for the least expensive exhaust that wouldn't be considered restrictive. I don't want anything fancy, just want to make it legal. It's a 350 with Summit headers and a 700r4. The PO included a Y-pipe from a v6 and a 305, but I think they would both be too restrictive performance wise.

Re: pipes needed for exhaust

may be better off just buying a cheap 3" catback kit and then just have him do a ypipe to fit it. Y pipe is gonna be around 120 in materials give or take some....mild steel of course. Not hard to make them.

Full catback likely 200-350 in materials depending on alot of things...material/piping diameter/muffler you use, layout of the tips when going over the axle.

I buy all J bends or U bends for my exhaust builds. Usually Y pipe can be 5 bends or so plus merge pipe for fab your own. Full catback maybe 8 J bends. theres enough straight left over to do alot of long runs so you are mainly paying for the bend sections
