Re: Should i buy these slp headers+y-pipe+cat
Yes get em. Just be aware of the problems with them which are small. For one alot of people have issues with the steering shaft. I did too. I had to take it off and then reinstall it once the driver was in and even then I had to cut off the plastic cover from it. That was pretty much all that was needed but keep in mind I had new motor mounts.
They are a great set of headers, I would of stayed with them but longtubes were the way to go for my setup.

Re: Should i buy these slp headers+y-pipe+cat
@carlos773 yeah thats true I recently sold a pair pacesetter headers with y-pipe I had to take of the steering shaft no biggie and slightly move the brake line to get them to fit but the exstention piece would not fit right I think it was the poor design of the pacesetter they were somewhat rare and no longer made but I just found these slp for sale but I really wanted the slp tri y but these are just as good I will buy the slp tri y some time in the future
Re: Should i buy these slp headers+y-pipe+cat
I have had the SLP 1 3/4 header set on my car for the last ten years. Too bad they don't make them anymore, better then that other crap that is out there.

Dyno Dons are basically a improved design of these. Good price too for the whole setup. Even comes coated. Hit him up if you want the slps but with a better design.

Still this thread is about the Slps. Very good headers even more if you get a good deal on them.

Re: Should i buy these slp headers+y-pipe+cat
I would go for them because they sounded really good on my brother's 91 Formula along with the 2OTL SLP catback. Only thing is, the air pipes on them look questionable. They don't look like they would be for an F-body. An F-body has the air pipes curve back toward the driver on the driver's side and then the passenger side header is supposed to have an air pipe inlet that point toward the front of the car isn't it? That is how most of them are that i have seen. Find out if those headers came off of a Monte Carlo SS or a G-body car first. Cause I would definatly go for headers with the air.

Re: Should i buy these slp headers+y-pipe+cat
Those are correct F-body headers. there are 2 diff typs of air tubes 4 each of them. SLP had adapters in their install kits.
I have have/had several sets of each the 1 3/4" and 1 5/8" try Ys.
Here is a dirty Little secret..
SLP used the same size tubing 4 both headers and the Y pipes are 2"1/2 OD if they are lucky. I have measured a few sets of each...
SLP stuff is good but they (like all headers) have some issues. Air tubes crack, hard to line up to bolt on(1 piece flange would fix it) ect ect..
Im thinking Dyno Dons may be the new way to go for headers and Ypipe.

What about price tho? I mean i got my headers and ypipe used for $150. It pays to shop around. Isn't that the purpose?modify the car the most cost effective way?

If thats the case then you have a budget car. If you want the best quality/performance then paying top dollar is what is required sometimes. Like my neighbor says Half-Assed= Half Fast.
Nothing wrong with buying used parts or going with the budget way, just saying saving up in the end is worth it.

I mean, you can do things like send your cam off to a regrind shop and they can make you a roller cam for $75. It's things like that. Plus doing the work myself. Craigslist has been good to me. I just did my research.
