Re: new headers are one ...

I believe you're supposed to measure the new length with a piece of string and subtract 1/2 an inch from that measurement. You may also have to change the way in which it is routed, I'm not sure

And off-topic but your Camaro looks sick the way it's stanced. I have the same wheels and tire size. How much did you lower it?

That thing has been around forever. It's practically public domain by now. I wouldn't stress at this point over upsetting the original author, whoever that is.

sorry to disapoint you but this is a photo shoped pic of how i want the stance to be . i been thinking about sending the rears out to get them wider because i'm only running 255 on the back an 245 on thr front . these are my winter wheels . i'm getting some 17" 9.5 front an 18" -10.5 rear for summer .
back on track tho for this thread since i changed the headers my car is missing real bad . i changed the plugs an had them gapped at 45 i went to get a set of new wires but they had to order them so they won't be in till wed. i reset my timing it was off a touch . i'm gonna check an make sure i don't have any wires resting on the header . that misses are random . any other ideas would be greatly appriciated .

Re: new headers are one ...

Are all of the sensors still hooked up? Knock sensor temp sensors and the O2 sensor.....O2 sensor if mounted in the y pipe should be replaced with a heated version. A search will provide the part number.

Re: new headers are one ...

o2 senser is in the header just like the original , it's not giving any code but when the engine smooths out the light comes on . it's running so rich it messed up my wideband senser . is it possiable the narrow band is bad also compounding my problem ? i broke the senser on the passanger side under the manifold would the fan switch cause this condition ?

all the sesers are hooked up , will a heated 02 senser stop the service engine light from coming on an fix the starting problems ?

Re: new headers are one ...

O2 sensors are not used untill the engine is warm. The hard starting issue is most likely somewhere else. Heated sensors are usually recommented with headers because they disipate too much heat to warm it up naturaly.

Re: new headers are one ...

ok today i checked my volts engine off key on 5.06 . started engine after idle leveled out at idle 0.42 . but still have the extremely rich start with rough idle then after a min. or so it levels out .the motors all stock except free flow k&n filter with the filter top no cat an hshorty headers . i'm wondering if a heated 02 will fix this or what else could it be ? i'm planning on getting the ebl flash next month . i can live with the rich start for now since it drives fine after it settles in if it wiull last until i get the new computer . help

this happens with the motor hot or cold ...

A factory service manual from Helm will do wonders. We can only guess.
