OK.... I have a short thread in Engine Swap. Ordered my L31 crate, ordering the StealthRam and other tidbits this week.

Not sure what I want to do about the exaust. I of course want to replace the stock manifolds (was a 305 TPI). Already deleted the AIR, tubes and all, so no issue there. I'm wanting an affordable set of headers and Y to fit. I already have a high flow Cat on order, and will run an exhaust kit backk from that. Suggestions? I have heard fit issues with Hedman, etc various troubles with various headers. I won't be going nuts on HP with this motor, just want enough flow to let the engine do it's thing with the 'stock' cam for now, since changing that gets into machining the vortec heads for more than what, .050 lift and changing springs and all.

So I'm not looking to pull 400+ hp, just enough that the exhaust isn't anemic for the 'stock' L31.

Suggestions? Anyone? My primary concern here is ease of fit and getting it all together without having to bend-cut-weld-grind.

why are you running a cat if you deleted the air system?all the stuff has to be on there to be 'legal'.

FL doesn't smog check. Nobody is going to be poking under my hood. Even if they did the tailpipe probe, it wouldn't matter. The AIR system simply aids in heating the cat from 'cold' until it's up to temp, to enable it to convert CO into CO2 quicker. Once the vehicle has been running for a bit, the Cat will function fine on it's own. Nobody I know that lives in a smog state and has removed the AIR has ever failed due to that alone, except in CA, where they will open the hood and do a looksee. So, unless the Fed decides to start kicking in garage doors, I'm not terribly concerned.
